Mary Elizabeth  Bennett (Benfield)
Mary Elizabeth Benfield Bennett, 84, of Johnson City, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mary was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City.

She was a daughter of the late Roosevelt and Blanche Ashley Benfield. Mary worked as a medical biller and was an avid bowler. She was a longtime member of Sinking Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, William J. Bennett; son, William S. Bennett; daughter, Vickie Bennett; and sister, Patsy Alexander.

She is survived by: her three children, Tony Lee Bennett and his wife Donna, Sandy Maddux and her husband John, and Rebecca Washington and her husband JD; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Adams and Sue Birchfield and her husband Hobe; and special friend, Nivia Arnett.

The family of Mary Bennett will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday, March 16, 2015 in Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 pm Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Sinking Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Jayson Hoagland will officiate. Following the funeral service, minister, family, and friends will proceed to Monte Vista Memorial Park for a 1:00 pm graveside service. Pallbearers will be members of Sinking Creek Baptist Church.
